Many of us spend a lot of time in our kitchens preparing food. We don’t only want the food to taste nice, we also want the food to be as healthy and nutritious as possible.
One of the challenges a lot of us are faced with is to get the most out the freshness i.e. preserving our food so it last as long as possible without spoiling before we get to use it. Another challenge for those of us who want to use gluten free products, but we do want to bake that cake or cookies and thicken the gravy, how do we do it without the use of gluten. Well, those are some of the topics that will be covered in this series.
We will also be looking at conversion charts, because depending on which country you are from different unit of measure are used. I will be sharing the most popular and useful ones with you.

AVOCADOS
Sprinkle sliced/cut avocados with lemon juice to stop them from turning brown. Never store avocados near other fruit or vegetables. Avocados contain a ripening agent and this will cause the other fruit/food to spoil more rapidly.

BANANAS
Wrap the tops of bananas in plastic wrap or aluminium foil to make them last days longer.
Never store bananas together with other fruit as they too contain a ripening agent and the other fruit will spoil faster than normal
