Unexplained livestock mutilations have been reported for many many years but have never received the kind of news coverage they deserve. The mystery here does not lie with the fact that the cows, horses or sheep die, it lies within the question of how they die and who or what could be responsible for this strange phenomenon. Explanations range from common predators to UFOs. These mysterious deaths are nothing new, with the first cases being reported and documented as far back as the 1970’s in the USA.
Between April and October of 1975, nearly 200 cases of cattle mutilation were reported in the state of Colorado alone. This is a staggering number if you consider that some of these are prized bulls which are extremely expensive and hence a huge loss for the farmer. In the 1970’s alone the losses to farmers were in the millions.
The two most important questions regarding this mystery are “HOW”? which no can answer definitively as yet, and “WHY”? what could the reason behind this be? are “they” whoever “they” are, collecting genetic material for some sort of experimentation or cloning? There are far more questions than answers to this particular mystery.

Finally the FBI got involved and opened an investigation. Ultimately, the FBI’s inquiry dismissed the idea that something strange and unexplained was going on, and in the early 1980’s, they closed the investigation. They concluded the mutilations were the result of nothing other than a “common predator.”
The theory of common predator’s does not make much sense simply because they would not make such precise cuts and incisions and some farmers have noted that when a cow dies of natural causes the predators will take care of it over next few days, however with these animals no predator goes near them. It has also been noted that in some instances radiation levels surrounding the carcass are extremely high and sometimes slight burn marks are visible in the grass surrounding the dead animal in a very thin line.
The farmers where furious when the FBI dropped the investigation and published it’s conclusion to the case. One of the farmers stated the following,
“I’ve been around cattle all my life and I can sure tell whether it’s been done by coyote or a sharp instrument,” Sheriff George A. Yarnell of Elbert County, a rural area south of Denver, told The New York Times in the fall of 1975.

To this day, theories range from wild predators, to Satanic Cults and UFOs. The reason there is so much speculation as to how these animals die is due to the strange nature of the injuries. Certain parts of the animals are removed, and this can only be described as nothing other than having been surgically removed with extreme precision. The animals are drained entirely of blood, often their tongues, eyes, ears and sex organs are missing as well as other body parts. There is never evidence of a struggle of any kind or footprints anywhere in the vicinity of the dead animals.

Below is another short extract interviewing a farmer with regard to the strange mutilations of his cattle.
The FBI later claimed that these cases are outside their jurisdiction, and the local sheriffs and police are totally dumbfounded by the findings. Local veterinarians also have no reasonable explanations. In fact they have more questions than answers after examining the carcasses more closely.

Many theories abound, but to this day there are no plausible answers. Will we ever find out what is really going on here, or will this remain another unexplained mystery for eternity? One thing I know for certain and that is that someone knows exactly what is happening here, but as we are all aware of, especially now, way too many secrets are being kept from us, and I believe this is one of them. Hence the FBI’s reluctance to get involved any further.
